Charli XCX Plays a Twisted Persona of Her Own Identity in Fictional Documentary Preview
The celebrated musician is preparing for a major big screen presence in 2026, kicking off with the satirical film titled The Moment.
Within the project, she plays what she calls as a hell version of her own persona.
It’s the realest depiction of the entertainment world that I’ve ever witnessed, the star remarked.
She clarified in an interview: It’s far from a live performance documentary, but the idea came from the demand to make one.
An Early Look into The Project
The debut trailer, unveiled on Thursday, blends real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with made-up backstage scenes.
The mockumentary is overseen and co-authored by the director, who explained that the story revolves around a reality where the artist opted for alternate decisions during the promotion of her hugely successful record Brat.

The mockumentary is only one of numerous upcoming screen roles for Charli, who already appeared in three independent movies recently.

Future Ventures
Next year will also see the star with Olivia Wilde in sensual story I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in art world thriller The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in terror reimagining Faces of Death.
She recently signed on to feature in the star’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.
I am really enjoying my cinematic path, the performer stated. I’m highly enthusiastic at the moment in acting, and I only ever aim to pursue things that inspire me.
Musical Contributions
The month of February will also bring the debut of Emerald Fennell’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will feature original songs from the singer.
She is also set to compose the score for the film Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released in the coming year.
The film is scheduled to debut on 30 January.
