Patriots Match Longest Victory Run Since Brady Era with Triumph Against Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

First-year player TreVeyon Henderson has tallied five TDs this season

New England equaled their best victory streak from the Tom Brady period as they beat division rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the New England squad notched an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

Signal-caller Maye passed for 281 yards and a TD, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The win bolsters the New England's advantage at the top of the division as they advanced to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had gone in front at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Fields scoring a five-yard touchdown to finish the New York's initial series

But the New England fought back in the second period as the rookie scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third period to make it 21-7

"That was a big time for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of Henderson. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales booted a two field goals in the final period as the Patriots sealed the victory
